Chapter History
The Delta Chi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha was installed on February 23, 1952, at the University of Nebraska Omaha, then known as the University of Omaha.

In 1908, the University of Omaha was incorporated as a co-educational, non-sectarian college. In 1930, the citizens of Omaha voted to make the University a municipal institution. The University moved to its present 52-acre campus in the center of Omaha's finest residential district in 1936.

In 1915, the local fraternity of Theta Phi Delta was established by 12 outstanding student leaders. Conversations began in 1950 with Field Secretary John Horton and the members in an effort to become a part of Pi Kappa Alpha. Over the next few months, the group was busy with contacts, investigations, and decisions.

In the latter part of 1951, a decisive vote was cast for the group to petition Pi Kappa Alpha. After months of work and preparation, the group was able to celebrate the festivities and accomplishment of becoming a member chapter of The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Individual initiations were held under the direction of District President Lloyd Jones and installation teams from the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, University of Kansas, and Kansas State University. 47 members and 15 alumni were initiated into The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity as Delta Chi Chapter charter members.

For 73 years, the Delta Chi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha has helped cultivate men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character. After graduation, these members go on to serve their communities as devoted citizens, friends, and family men.
